THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS…
UK – 26 October; Singapore – 1 November; US – 9 November
Depending on which country you are in, there are 11, 17 or 25 days left till the opening of Skyfall in your local cinemas. With less than a month to go, now is the perfect time to hype up the mood and adrenaline of fans leading up to the latest installment of the Bond film franchise. This year being the golden year of Bond (2012 marks the 50th anniversary of the Bond franchise), the expectations are certainly soaring and the pressure is higher than ever for the English man donning the role of the famed British spy for the third time in his career – Daniel Craig. With an astounding first performance in Casino Royale that silenced the critics who had casted doubts on him, followed by a dismal and lacklustre script in the sequel Quantum of Solace, Daniel Craig should be relieved to know that initial reviews of special preview screenings of Skyfall have been highly optimistic so far. Critics have been singing high praises in their reviews and via social media platforms. And so here is just a brief look at the buzz going on in twitter:
Best Bond film ever and that’s not hype.
Brian D. Johnson (Film critic at Maclean’s magazine. President, Toronto Film Critics Association. Author. Filmmaker)
‘Skyfall’ is like ‘The Dark Knight Returns’ of James Bond films.
Raffi Asdourian (Independent filmmaker. Writer for The Film Stage)
Not only is Skyfall the perfect way to commemorate 50 years of James Bond, it’s also the best 007 film yet.
Looks like everyone is going to be expecting alot from Skyfall and James Bond this time round. There’s only two ways this movie could go down, a) Sky high or b) A hard hard fall. Judging from the clip below, though Bond takes a long fall down, I think he’s going to be flying high in the cinemas;]
In the clip we see one of the Bond girls, Naomi Harris, in action as she struggles to take the shot at a duo fighting atop a moving train. The duo comprises of a pair of fighting men, a.k.a Mr Bond and unknown guy. The suspense is tight and nervy in this clip as we see James Bond taking a hit and falling a long long loooonggggg…. way down into the icy cold water.
Find Naomie Harris familiar? Well you might remember her as Tia Dalma/Calypso the sea goddess in Pirates of the Carribean: At World’s End (2007). She also starred opposite Korean superstar Rain in Ninja Assassin (2009).
