This year’s Oscar race voting panel faced some seriously tough decisions in my opinion. With a great number of amazing and inspiring titles produced within the past year, featuring a multitude of talented performances from many veteran actors and beautiful works by brilliant and seasoned directors, the fight among fellow nominees was certainly a very close call. I certainly wished there could be more than one winner for some categories, especially in the best actor and best supporting actor categories. The talent this year was just so great!
But apart from the serious side of the Academy Awards – winning the Oscars – the hilarious skits and reactions of the celebrity audience are what I really look forward to:) And so I’d like to share some of my fave moments in this year’s Academy Awards here with everyone!
1) Seth Macfarlane’s Boob Song and Jennifer Lawrence’s Reaction
(Click the link above to watch the full clear boob song segment on yahoo! Screen) Macfarlane sang a comical tribute to leading ladies who have had silver screen boob time in the past, and judging from the reactions, not everyone appreciated his kind of humour. I loved the priceless expressions of Naomi Watts and Charlize Theron who seemed horrified and none-to-pleased when their names were being mentioned in the boob song. Look out for the person sitting next to Watts, he was aptly staring at her boobs the moment Macfarlane sung out Naomi’ Watts name! To just see Jennifer Lawrence’s spunky reaction when singled out that she has had zero boob air time so far, watch the clip below from the 0.22 mark.
2) Ted looking adorable while presenting awards in a tux;]
The lovable foul mouthed, booze loving and lady loving teddy bear is back, this time to present at the Academy Awards!
3) Les Miserables Cast Performance
4) Re-enactment of movie FLIGHT using sock puppets
I loved Flight, and so seeing the hilarious sock puppet spoof of it made my day. The alcoholic focus with the “glug glug glug, glug glug glug” left me in stitches.
5) The gorgeous fashion show on the red carpet
The dresses were stunning on the ladies of the red carpet this year! Best actress winner Jennifer Lawrence looked the part with her dramatic yet elegant Dior Haute Couture gown. Anne Hathaway’s “Business in the front, Party at the back” pink Prada together with her cropped hair looked beautiful on the 30-year-old. Helen Hunt surprised everyone with her gown from mass retailer H&M, a first, and certainly the most affordable dress of the night.
6) Funny moments immortalized in GIF
7) Jennifer Lawrence being as chirpy and cheery as ever despite falling on her way to the stage
